Mikael Stahre (born July 5, 1975 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football coach . In 2009 he took up his first coaching post at AIK in the Allsvenskan and won the double from the Swedish championship and national cup with the club , later he won the national cup again with IFK Göteborg .
Career
Stahre only played football actively as a teenager. He grew up in Stockholm's Gröndal district between 1980 and 1994 for the local association Gröndals IK . In 1990 he also began his career as a youth coach at the club.
In 1994 Stahre moved on to Hammarby IF to work as a youth coach. After three years he switched to the youth department of the first division rivals AIK. He stayed here for seven seasons and won the Swedish Junior Championship in 2004, the club's first title at this level. At the same time he was promoted to assistant coach of the reserve team, which he took over in 2005. In 2006, the club promoted him to the side of coach Rikard Norling and his assistant Nebojša Novaković as assistant coach of the first division team.
In 2007 Stahre left AIK and signed a contract with third division club Väsby United . The previous year's relegated he led in the northern relay of Division 1 to the runner-up behind Assyriska Föreningen and thus on a promotion place. In the following season he succeeded with the team around players like Martin Kayongo-Mutumba , Mikael Thorstensson and Walid Atta in the Superettan as a table ninth under the relegation.
In November 2008, AIK signed Stahre as the successor to Norling as the new head trainer. In the 2009 season he led the team around Nils-Eric Johansson , Pierre Bengtsson , Mauro Iván Óbolo and Per Karlsson back into the fight for the title. Therefore, AIK announced in September that it would extend the contract, which was still running for two years, ahead of schedule. At the end of the season he won with the team at direct competitor IFK Göteborg and thus led them to win the Lennart Johansson Cup for the championship. A week later, the teams faced each other again in the cup final, with a 2-0 victory he triumphed with his team again.
On April 26, 2010 Stahre ended his engagement with the double winner and took over the coaching position of the Greek first division club Panionios Athens for the 2010/11 season. Under his leadership, the team played in the back of the table in the Greek Super League . After the elimination in the Greek national cup against a lower class club, the club relieved the coach of his duties on October 28th of that year.
Stahre returned to Swedish football for the Allsvenskan season in 2012 , taking over as coach at IFK Göteborg as the successor to Jonas Olsson and Stefan Rehn . In his first season he finished seventh with the team, and in summer 2013 he won his first title with the club. In the national cup, his team around Tobias Hysén , Mattias Bjärsmyr , Jakob Johansson and Philip Haglund defeated the league rivals Djurgårdens IF on penalties .
