Tobias Hysén (born March 9, 1982 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish football player . The offensive player, who made his debut for the Swedish national team in 2005 , is the son of multiple national player Glenn Hysén .
Career
Early years
Hysén started playing football at Ubbhults IF . He joined the Gothenburg club BK Häcken through Lundby IF . He made his debut for the club in the 2000 season in the Allsvenskan . At first he was only a supplementary player and remained loyal to the club even after relegation from the top class at the end of the following season. Before he played for the club in the Superettan in 2002 , he made his debut on February 13 of that year in the 3-0 defeat by the Greek U-21 team in the Swedish U-21 team when he was 65. Minute of play for Patrik Jönsson was substituted on. While he was called to the national team in the course of the year, but was hardly used there, he was able to play his way into the regular formation at his club and played 25 of the 30 season games, where he got seven goals this season. Also in the second division season in 2003 he stood out for his consistency and reached the third place in the table with the team, which entitled to relegation games against the third from bottom of the Allsvenskan. In the playoffs against GIF Sundsvall , however, he failed with the club.
Success with Djurgårdens IF and failure in England
After the missed recovery, Hysén accepted an offer from the Stockholm club Djurgårdens IF and returned to the Allsvenskan. With his new club, the two million Swedish crowns paid transfer fee for his services, he signed a four-year contract. As a regular in midfield, he made the jump into the squad of the U-21 national team for the U-21 European Championship in 2004 . At the side of players like Stefan Ishizaki , Johan Elmander or Fredrik Stenman , he reached the semi-finals of the tournament, after defeats against the Serbian-Montenegrin and the Portuguese U-21 selection , he finished fourth with the team.
Hysén was more successful with his club in the course of the year: In 2004, he won the national cup in the final game for the national cup alongside Johan Arneng , double goal scorer Daniel Sjölund and Matías Concha with a 3-1 win over IFK Göteborg . His achievements were also honored by national coach Lars Lagerbäck and on January 22 of the following year he made his debut in the 1-1 draw against South Korea in the senior national team. In the following season in 2005 he helped to surpass the success of the previous year. After not being on the pitch in just one game, he was able to celebrate winning the Lennart Johansson Cup as the Swedish champion at the end of the season. One week after the end of the season, the trophy was defended with a 2-0 win against Åtvidabergs FF and thus the double.
While Hysén was only considered in the international matches of the Swedish selection at the beginning of the year, he was also used internationally at club level due to the successes at national level. In both the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Champions League , he was eliminated with the club in the first round or qualification, in the 2004/05 UEFA Cup he missed with the team despite two goals in the 3-0 return win against the Dutch club FC Utrecht advanced to the second round after a 4-0 defeat in the first leg. He also appeared with Djurgårdens IF in the Royal League , but the Northern European competition was similarly unsuccessful for the club.
In the following season Hysén was still one of the regulars in the first half of the season. In August of that year, however, he accepted an offer from Sunderland AFC and moved to England for 23 million Swedish kronor. However, his post abroad was not crowned with success. Under coach Roy Keane , the team reached the championship of the Football League Championship and thus promotion to the Premier League , but Hysén came almost exclusively as a substitute for the train.
Return to Sweden
Due to the lack of match practice, Hysén decided to return to Sweden. In August 2007, IFK Gothenburg reported the player's obligation as a successor of the Netherlands for FC Groningen exchanged Marcus Berg . At the end of the season he was able to celebrate his second championship title in Sweden after six season appearances for the club, the double was missed by a 3-0 defeat in the cup final against Kalmar FF . In the 2008 season he had established himself as a regular player and did not miss any of the 30 season games. Although the team only reached third place in the league, in the cup final they were able to return the favor to champions KFF for the previous year's defeat and after a 5-4 success on penalties , Hysén won the cup in Sweden for the third time in his career.
Until the summer break of the 2009 season , Hysén stood out as a regular goalscorer. With nine goals in twelve games, he helped his club to first place in the league. Lars Lagerbäck then brought him back to the national team for the last two international matches of the national team before the summer break and in the 4-0 victory over the Maltese national team on June 10th of that year he made his sixth international appearance as a substitute when he was Marcus Berg replaced in the 78th minute of the game. By the end of the season, he proved to be an accurate scorer and kept IFK Göteborg in the championship race. On the last day of the match he missed the new title win with the club in a direct duel with rivals AIK by a 1: 2 home defeat, but with 18 goals this season he was together with Wanderson do Carmo from local rivals GAIS top scorer of the league. In the following season he started with his club as a championship candidate. Although he hit double digits again with ten goals this season and thus established himself in the circle of the national team, the season was mixed for the club and as seventh in the table he missed an international competition.
After Hysén had also distinguished himself as a regular goalscorer in the first half of the 2011 season , speculations arose about a club change. At the beginning of July, however, he extended his contract prematurely until the end of 2015.
Station China
At the beginning of 2014, Hysén signed a contract with Shanghai SIPG from the Chinese Super League . At his new club he was immediately a regular player and scored twice on the 2nd match day of the 2014 season. He scored a total of 19 goals this season over the course of the 2014 season, placing himself among the top three scorers in the Chinese championship. At the same time, he continued to run for the Swedish national team over the course of the year, with which he, however, missed participation in the 2014 World Cup finals . In September he played his last of 34 international matches on the occasion of the 2-0 success over Estonia in the context of qualifying for the European Championship 2016 . In the following season he came on 12 goals in the course of the season, which he was the club's second top scorer behind Wu Lei . With two points behind defending champion Guangzhou Evergrande , he missed the championship title with the team as second in the table.
Return to Sweden
In January 2016, Hysén returned to IFK Göteborg in the Allsvenskan, where he signed a contact with an option to extend until the end of 2017. Under coach Jörgen Lennartsson , he was initially used primarily as a substitute, but established himself in the starting line-up over the course of the season. With ten goals this season in the 2016 season , he was the club's top scorer, and when he was fourth in the table, he missed the European Cup with the team. In July 2017 - Hysén was again at the top of the club's internal goalscorer list - the option was drawn and the contract extended until the end of 2018.
