Curt Hjelm

Curt Hjelm (born November 3, 1913 in Skedevi , † October 5, 1988 in Norrköping ) was a Swedish football player .

Career

Hjelm started playing football in Rejmyre at Rejmyre Idrottsförening , where he played with his brothers. He then moved to IK Sleipner and experienced and shaped the heyday of the club in Allsvenskan . At the end of the 1930s, the team around him and players like Harry Andersson or Gustav Wetterström were among the top clubs in the league and in 1938 the club was able to place first before the trio Landskrona BoIS , Helsingborgs IF and IF Elfsborg and the Von Rosens Cup win. As one of the regular players, Hjelm was one of the eleven players who were honored as Swedish champions at the end of the season. With 13 goals this season, he was also the top scorer in the same year and was appointed to the Swedish national team the following year . On June 3, 1939, he made his debut in the 3-2 win over the Norwegian national team in the national jersey. On June 11, he played his second international match and was able to enter the top scorer list twice in the 7-0 win over the Lithuanian national selection . The two games remained his only two internationals.
