Leif Larsson (born December 10, 1921 , † September 8, 1975 ) was a Swedish football player . The striker scored more than a hundred goals in his playing days in the Allsvenskan , whose top scorer he was in the 1943/44 season .

Career

Larsson began his career at IFK Gothenburg for which he made his debut in the men's team in the late 1930s. In 1939 he rose with the club to the Allsvenskan, where he immediately established himself as a regular goalscorer. As a climber at the end of the 1939/40 season, second in the table behind IF Elfsborg , he won the Von Rosens Cup for the national championship title two years later at the side of Arne Nyberg , Åke Samuelsson , Ernst Andersson and Gunnar Gren . In the following seasons, the club could not build on the success and occupied places in the middle of the table. Larsson, however, stood out in the 1943/44 season when he scored 19 goals this season and was crowned the league's top scorer.

In 1946, Larsson, who had scored 79 goals in 98 first division games for IFK Göteborg, joined local rivals GAIS . He was also a dangerous attacker at his new club, scoring 31 goals in 49 games by 1950.
