Arne Nyberg

Arne Nyberg (born June 20, 1913 in Säffle ; † August 12, 1970 ) was a Swedish football striker .

career

Nyberg first played for SK Sifhälla . In 1932 he moved to IFK Göteborg in the Allsvenskan . He was active for the club until 1950 and won the Swedish championship with the club in 1935 and 1942. Even after the end of his playing career, he worked for the club.

Nyberg also played 31 times for the Blågult between 1935 and 1946 , in which he scored 18 goals. He played his first international match on June 12, 1935 in Stockholm in a 2-2 draw against the Finnish national team. He took part in the 1938 World Cup and was able to score one goal in each of the three games during the tournament. Nevertheless, in the end it was only enough for fourth place.

Trivia

Nyberg's son Ralph played like his father for IFK Göteborg in the Allsvenskan and in 1958 he won the Swedish championship with the club.
