Patrik Ingelsten (born January 25, 1982 ) is a Swedish football player .

Career

Career start in Sweden and breakthrough as champion and top scorer

Ingelsten during training with Kalmar FF (2007)

Ingelsten started playing football at Hillerstorp's GoIF . In 2000 Jonas Thern brought him to the fourth division IFK Värnamo , with whom he was promoted to the third division 1 . From there he moved to Halmstads BK in Allsvenskan in 2002 . In the first three years he shuttled between the starting eleven and substitutes' bench. From the 2005 season he was able to establish himself in the first team.

Ingelsten left the club after the 2006 season and joined league rivals Kalmar FF . There he was in the starting line-up in all 26 games of the season in his first season and with seven goals this season he was the second best goalscorer behind Brazilian César Santin . At the end of the year he won the Swedish National Cup with the club . Also in his second season for the west Swedish club he shone as a regular goal scorer and led the club to win the championship with 19 goals this season and at the same time crowned himself the top scorer of the Allsvenskan. He had thus drawn attention to himself outside the country's borders.

Moving abroad: five years in the Netherlands and Norway

In January 2009 Ingelsten moved abroad and from then on played for the Dutch club SC Heerenveen , with whom he signed a contract with a term of three and a half years. Until the end of the first half series in the Netherlands, he was one of the regular players and was used in twelve league games. This was followed by a long period of suffering, during which he was repeatedly slowed down by injuries. He was only in the starting line-up in two of his six stakes in the first half of the 2009/10 season .

Ingelsten therefore left the club in early 2010 and went to Norway to Viking Stavanger , where he signed a four-year contract. In the Tippeligaen , he was initially characterized by his goal hazard and was regular in the first 21 days of play before he injured his knee in August that year and was out for a long time. After missing the entire 2011 season, coach Åge Hareide made contact with former Norwegian professional Ole Gunnar Solskjær , who had also had the experience of a long injury-related break. In May 2012 he returned as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Stabæk Fotball through a goal by Vidar Nisja on the lawn, but in the further course of the season he was only able to play the role of substitute player. Although he played his way back into the regular formation for long stretches during the 2013 season and scored seven goals this season, the contract that expired at the end of the year was not extended.

Return to Sweden

As early as November 2013, Ingelsten signed his employment contract with the Swedish first division club Mjällby AIF , which will be valid from the beginning of 2014 , where he met head coach Lars Jacobsson , who was assistant coach at HBK 2004 at Ingelsten's time. At his new club, however, he could not meet the expectations and was soon on the bench more often. Although he came on as a substitute at times, he was denied a goal. In July, the club in relegation battle awarded him to the league competitor Falkenbergs FF, trained by Henrik Larsson . He scored his first goal of the season straight from his first game, a 4-1 home win against AIK , who was second in the table at the time . With further hits, he led the team around Stefan Rodevåg , Johan Svahn , Tobias Karlsson and Godsway Donyoh to a non-relegation place shortly before the end of the season, before a controversial clause of the loan agreement made headlines in October that a ban on playing in the - possibly decisive for relegation - a direct duel between the two teams on the last matchday of the 2014 season .
