The Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Värnamo is a Swedish sports club from Värnamo . The club's football team is currently in the second division .
history
IFK Värnamo was founded in 1912. In 1930 the team rose to the third division, in 1934 they made it to the second division as the season winner of Division 3 Sydöstra . After reaching eighth place in the table in the first year, she missed relegation the following year. Following the direct resurgence, the club seemed to be able to establish itself in the second division, but had to accept relegation in 1941.
In the third division IFK Värnamo played to return to the second division. In 1945 the club reached the promotion round, but failed there after a 1: 5 defeat and a 0-0 draw at BK Derby . In the following year he moved back into the promotion round and this time was able to prevail against Finspång's AIK , but again missed relegation in the second division. After a few years in the midfield of the league, the team rose in 1951 to the fourth division and in the following years until 1955 commuted between the game levels. Then she played in third class until relegation again in 1961.
After the IFK Värnamo narrowly missed the return to the third division several times, in 1966 succeeded in renewed promotion and the subsequent march through to the second division. Here she played three seasons to stay up before relegation in 1970 followed by a crash in the fourth division. 1979 managed to return to the third division for one season and until the renewed promotion in 1983 she was one of the leading teams in the fourth division. In the following years she oscillated between the third and fourth level of the game. In the late 1980s she established herself in the third division, but had to relegate again in 1995.
IFK Värnamo subsequently strengthened its name as an elevator team and again commuted between the divisions. At the beginning of the new millennium, the team established itself in the third division. In 2005, fourth in the table in Division 2 Södra Götaland qualified for the new double-track Division 1 . Here the club initially reached midfield positions several times. In the 2010 season, the club established itself early on at the top of the table, which was defended against the pursuers Qviding FIF and IF Sylvia until the end of the season . As a season winner, the club returned to the second division after forty years in the lower division. In the 2011 season they finally managed to stay in relegation against Väsby United .
