The Division 1 2020 is the 15th season of the third-class Swedish football league . It should start on April 4, 2020 and end on November 8, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the start of the season was initially postponed to May 21, 2020. The first match day was played on June 14, 2020. The last matchday is scheduled for November 29, 2020.
mode
The 32 teams compete in two regionally divided relays. The season winners go straight to the second-rate Superettan , the respective runners-up compete in relegation games against the fourth and third from bottom of the second division.
The three teams placed at the bottom of the table are relegated directly to fourth-class Division 2 , while the last two teams play in relegation for relegation.
Carlstad United BK and Karlstad BK merged on November 25, 2019 to form IF Karlstad Fotboll .
Superettan relegated Syrianska FC was transferred to Division 2 as a penalty. For this, IFK Berga moved up as a further climber from Division 2 in the Norra relay.

Relegation
Places 13th and 14th of the Superettan 2020 will play against the second of the north / south seasons of Division 1 in a play-off round. The two winners will qualify for the Superettan 2021 .
