The Jernvallen is a 1938 erected sports complex in the Swedish city of Sandviken . It offers sports facilities for ice hockey , bandy , floorball , soccer , handball , tennis and other sports. The Sandvikens IF football club plays its home games in the facility's old football stadium , Gamla Jernvallen, with 7,000 seats . There is also the Arena Jernvallen with artificial turf and 700 seats. In addition, the bandy team of Sandvikens AIK uses the sports facility. The facility gained national fame as the venue for two games of the 1958 World Cup .

The record attendance for a football match dates back to 1957, when 20,288 battle-goers watched the clash between Sandvikens IF and IFK Norrköping . In 1988 the record for bandy games was set in the duel between Sandvikens AIK and Vetlanda BK with 5,880 fans.

In May 2009 the Göransson Arena was opened on the site . This should (as of: 2008) be the venue for the bandy games of Sandvikens AIK, Sandvikens IF also planned to compete there, making it the first Swedish soccer team to play their competitive games in a hall.
