background

The Edsborgs IP has an athletics facility for practicing various disciplines, in particular a six-lane arena around a natural grass field. In addition to the actual stadium, the facility includes two other soccer fields, one each with natural and artificial grass. These are also used by the local soccer high school.

The stadium has a total capacity of 5,100 spectators. It has a covered main grandstand and an opposite grandstand; there are no superstructures in the curves. The largest number of spectators was registered in May 2006 with 5,484 spectators at a game against Husqvarna FF .

The sports facility is located in the north-east of Trollhättan, right next to European route 45 between the districts of Hjulkvarn and Stavrelund , and various bus routes stop near the stadium.

FC Trollhättan , created in 2001 from a merger, played its league games in the stadium from the start. After the club's rise to the Superettan at the end of 2008, second division football was played in the stadium until relegation at the end of the 2010 season . In addition, the sports facility was the venue for regional athletics championships.
