The Gavlevallen is a football stadium in the Swedish Gävle . It has served the Swedish club Gefle IF since 2015 to host their home games.
background
Gefle IF played in Strömvallen from 1923 . The stadium had been rebuilt several times in the meantime, most recently after the club's promotion to Allsvenskan in 2004, the capacity was expanded with tubular steel stands, among other things. After a tightening of the requirements for stadiums in Swedish professional football announced in 2014 by the national association, the club and the municipality of Gävle agreed on a new building to replace the old stadium as the venue for home games in the Allsvenskan.
After construction began in early 2014, the stadium in the immediate vicinity of the Gavlerinken Arena was opened in May 2015. The football stadium offers space for 6,432 spectators and has an artificial turf pitch .
