The Grimsta Idrottsplats ( German  Grimsta Sportplatz ) is a football stadium in Vällingby , a district of Stockholm . The stadium is the venue for the home games of IF Brommapojkarna .

Stadion

The stadium was established in 1963 and after the construction of the main grandstand offered 4,500 spectators. After the club was promoted to the Allsvenskan for the first time in the 2007 season , the capacity of the stadium was expanded to 7,343 seats. There was a record attendance on April 19, 2009, when 6,255 fans wanted to see the derby against AIK .

The stadium has a covered main grandstand and an uncovered opposite grandstand with seats that extends halfway across the field. There are standing stands on the short sides of the playing field. Originally the stadium was played on natural grass, in order to meet the requirements for the Allsvenskan, the City of Stockholm invested 20 million kroner in the laying of artificial turf and underfloor heating .

future

In February 2008, the club published plans to build a sports complex including a conference center and hotel on the site of the Solvalla harness racing track , where both equestrian sports and football matches can be played. The new stadium should offer space for up to 15,000 spectators. After the planned start of construction in 2009, the arena should be completed in 2011, the construction costs are estimated at around 750 million crowns.
