The Borås Arena is a football stadium in the Swedish city ​​of Borås , Västra Götalands län . It offers 16,200 seats and is the home ground of the IF Elfsborg and Norrby IF football clubs .

history

Construction of the Borås Arena started on December 13, 2003. The facility was completed in 2005 and inaugurated on April 17 of that year. As part of the opening, the first official league match took place in the new arena between IF Elfsborg and Örgryte IS . Daniel Mobaeck scored the first goal in the stadium. The attendance record dates back to July 4, 2005, when 17,083 visitors saw the game IF Elfsborg against Kalmar FF . In order to have good playing conditions all year round, artificial turf was laid on the 105 × 68 m playing area. The construction costs amounted sisch to 112 million SEK (approximately 11.3 million ).
