The Behrn Arena (formerly Eyravallen ) is a football stadium in the Swedish city of Örebro . It is the home ground of the Swedish football club Örebro SK ( Fotbollsallsvenskan ) as well as the youth department Örebro SK Ungdom and the women's first division soccer club KIF Örebro DFF .
history
The stadium was built in 1923 by the football club Örebro SK and was initially called Eyravallen . It used to be used to host athletics competitions and bandy games ( Örebro SK Bandy). At the Football World Cup in 1958 Eyravallen was on June 15, 1958 the venue for the group game between France and Scotland . In 1974 the stadium was rebuilt, with the old standing stands being torn down and replaced by seating stands. Another renovation took place in 2002, in which the old, still wooden north stand was replaced. In 2005, Eyravallen was renamed Behrn Arena after a real estate company called "Behrn fastigheter" (Behrn Immobilien) bought the name for at least ten years. Between 2007 and 2009 the venue was further modernized.
