The Jämtkraft Arena is a football stadium in the Swedish city of Östersund . The plant is the home of the Allsvenskan playing football clubs Östersunds FK (ÖFK) and the female soccer team of Östersunds DFF (ODFF) from the second-class Elitettan . The namesake is the Östersund-based energy supply company Jämtkraft AB .

history

The Jämtkraft Arena opened on July 13, 2007. The following day, Östersunds FK and Welsh club Swansea City (2: 5) met in their first game. The venue, which was built for SEK 86.5 million (plus VAT ), currently offers 9164 seats, of which 5092 seats. The appearance of the stadium is determined by the two roofed longitudinal stands. The uncovered north tier was built almost entirely from wood. It was built after promotion to the Superettan in 2013. On the south side there is a restaurant with a view of the playing field. The stadium can fill up to 30,000 visitors for concerts. The playing field consists of artificial turf , which is underlaid with turf heating . It meets the requirements of both UEFA and FIFA . The floodlight system has an illuminance of 1200 lux , which enables television broadcasts. In May 2014 the Jämtkraft Arena received a new artificial turf playing area for 2.5 to 3 million SEK.

Not far southeast of the stadium is the Östersunds skidstadion , a cross-country stadium with a shooting range over 30 lanes for biathlon , floodlights and a fixed grandstand for 6,000 visitors. The biathlon world championships took place here in 1970 and 2008 . To the northeast, the multi-purpose hall Östersund Arena was inaugurated in December 2013 . The ice hockey club Östersunds IK plays its games here. The arena includes a large and a small hall as well as one for apparatus gymnastics . There is also an open-air bandy playing field.
