The Bravida Arena is a football stadium on the island of Hisingen, part of the municipality of Gothenburg . After the demolition in March / April 2014, the stadium was converted into a pure football stadium without an athletics facility.
history
The old stadium
The stadium was opened in 1935 and offered 7,000 seats on the two longitudinal stands, 3,000 of which were covered. The small arena served as the home ground of the Swedish first division soccer team BK Häcken and the fourth division ( Division 2 : Västra Götland) Lundby IF (however, they filed for bankruptcy in June 2006). As an athletics stadium, it was particularly used by IF Kville . The visitor record with 8,379 spectators was held by BK Häcken in its game on April 10, 2000 in the local derby against IFK Göteborg . The Rambergsvallen stadium was one of several sports facilities, as was the Rambergsrinken ice rink , built in 1958 , for the Hisingen sports and health center.
The new Building
Demolition of the Rambergsvallen began in March 2014. Then, in April of that year, the pile foundation with 500 piles and the foundation work began . During the renovation, BK Häcken moved to Gamla Ullevi . The club's new venue with 6,500 seats (expandable to 8,000) cost around SEK 181 million ( € 19.5 million ) and was handed over in June 2015. Additional costs were incurred for renewing the infrastructure around the stadium. The new arena has an artificial turf field and covered tiers. It meets the requirements of FIFA , UEFA and the Swedish Football Association SvFF . The arena is operated by Got Event AB , which is owned by the City of Gothenburg and manages the city's sports facilities.
On January 21, 2015, the new name of the renovated Bravida Arena was unveiled in the stadium . The company Bravida, based in Stockholm, has acquired the naming rights to the new home of BK Häcken.
On June 25, 2015 was the open day at the Öppen Arena . The opening match between the home team BK Häcken and Helsingborgs IF took place on July 5, 2015. The home side won the opening game after two defeats 3-2. The Allsvenskan game saw 6,049 spectators.
