history

The new building was opened on April 27, 2008. The football stadium is located in the Rocklunda IP leisure park, two kilometers north of downtown Västerås , the largest connected sports facility in Sweden. It is operated by the municipality of Västerås through the municipal company Rocklunda Sport & Event AB . The Solid Park Arena is played on heated artificial turf (field size 68 by 105 meters), which, like the entire arena, complies with the guidelines of FIFA and UEFA . The previous audience record is 6,441 visitors who wanted to see the city derby between Syrianska IF Kerburan and Västerås SK on September 5, 2010 in the third-highest Swedish league .

With its opening, the Solid Park Arena replaced the Arosvallen , an athletics stadium directly on the university grounds , for the city's football clubs . Initially, the stadium was called Swedbank Park , before the sports facility was renamed at the beginning of 2016 due to a change of sponsor and has since borne its current name.
