The Division 1 2008 was the third season of the third-class Swedish football league . Both seasons started on April 19, the southern season ended on October 18, and the northern season on October 19, 2008.

The season winners FC Trollhättan in the north and Syrianska FC in the south rose straight to the Superettan. The table runner-up of the northern season Vasalunds IF prevailed in the promotion games against IF Limhamn Bunkeflo , while the runner-up of the southern season Östers IF failed to Jönköpings Södra IF . The three last-placed teams of the respective seasons relegated to Division 2 .
