The Valsta Syrianska Idrotts- och Kulturförening (short: Valsta Syrianska IK) was a Swedish sports club in Märsta . The club was best known for its soccer team , which played third-rate until 2015 .
history
The Valsta Syrianska IK was created in the winter of 1993 from the merger of Valsta IK and Syrianska Föreningen . The newly founded club took over from Valsta IK in the seventh class Division 6 . In 1994, the merged team immediately made it to the sixth division. Two years later the club reached the fifth division and a year later the team was already fourth class. At first they found themselves in the relegation battle - relegation was only ensured in 1998 by winning the relegation round. Already in the second year of membership in Division 3 Norra Svealand , the team played for promotion, but failed due to the poorer goal difference behind the tied IF Vindhemspojkarna and Topkapi IK .
2000 Valsta Syrianska IK was relay winner of Division 3 Norra Svealand and thus made the leap into the third division. The team slowly approached the top of the table there. In 2003 she was two points behind Väsby IK runner-up in Division 2 Östra Svealand . A year later they played with the front, after a point deduction due to spectator rioting, the team took third place.
2005 Valsta Syrianska IK qualified fourth for the newly created Division 1 Norra and thus survived the league reform in the third division. In 2007, the team found itself in the relegation battle, but was able to assert itself with two points ahead of Skiljebo SK from Västerås in the league.
On February 15, 2015 the bankruptcy of the association was announced. Two weeks earlier, the Valsta Syrianska IK had withdrawn from the league.
