Arameiska / Syrianska Botkyrka Idrottsförening , often referred to as Syrianska Botkyrka IF , is a Swedish football club from Norsborg in the municipality of Botkyrka .
history
The club was founded in 1980 as Arameiska / Syrianska KIF as an immigrant association. For a long time, the football team played only under-class, before 2001 as the season winner of the fifth division Division 4 Stockholm Södra succeeded in promotion to the fourth division. There the team immediately played in the top group and qualified in 2004 as second in the table for the promotion round to third division, in which the team failed after a 3-0 defeat with a 4-1 win due to the away goals rule at Kungsörs SK . In the following year, division 3 Östra Svealand also achieved second place, thanks to a league reform, this meant qualification for the new fourth-class Division 2 Östra Svealand , in which the team missed promotion to division 1 as runner-up with two points behind Grondals IK .
In the 2007 season, Arameiska / Syrianska KIF won 14 of the 22 season games and prevailed as the season winner ahead of Eskilstuna City FK . After the ascent was perfect, the club took the name of the local municipality of Botkyrka, with which the club cooperates, into the club name. In the first third division season, the team finished eighth in the table, but ended the following season as bottom of the table on a relegation place and rose together with Carlstad United BK and Östersunds FK in the fourth division.
