Norsborg takes its name from Norsborg Manor (Norsborgs herrgård), which was built on Mälaren at the end of the 18th century . The place today mostly consists of high- rise slab buildings that were built as part of the so-called million dollar program and is close to the E4 motorway . In 1975 Norsborg got a connection to the Stockholm subway line Röda linjen , which has its terminus Norsborg here.
