The Superettan 2008 was the ninth season of the second highest Swedish football league under this name and the total of 80th season since the official introduction of such in 1928. The season began on April 11 and ended on October 25, 2008.

The former first division club Örgryte IS and BK Häcken managed to return to the Allsvenskan , while IF Brommapojkarna , who had been relegated to the first division, qualified for the relegation to the first division and prevailed against Ljungskile SK using the away goal rule . Enköpings SK and Degerfors IF had to relegate directly to Division 1 . IF Limhamn Bunkeflo and Jönköpings Södra IF occupied the corresponding relegation places. While the former failed against Vasalunds IF , Jönköpings Södra IF managed to stay up against Östers IF .
