Jonas Henriksson (born December 29, 1976 ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder and striker , who played over 200 games in the Allsvenskan , played in his career for the Gothenburg clubs GAIS , BK Häcken and IFK Göteborg .

Career

Career start at BK Häcken and GAIS

Henriksson started playing football at Kärra Klarebergs BK . From there he moved to BK Häcken. For the Gothenburg club, which was promoted to the Allsvenskan, he ran on in the following three years. At the end of the 1994 season he rose with the club in the second division. After a season in Division 1 Södra , which he finished with the club in seventh place in the table, he moved within the city to local and league rivals GAIS, who, as second in the table, had only missed promotion to Allsvenskan in the promotion round.

The 1996 season at GAIS was hapless for Henriksson. Although he played in 21 games for the south-west Swedish club in the southern season of the second division, despite five goals scored this season on the side of Anders Kiel , Marcus Ringberg and Tinos Lappas , the offensive player missed relegation with the club, which was traded as a promotion candidate. He then returned to BK Häcken. With the club he finished second in the southern season of the second division behind local rivals Västra Frölunda IF . In the subsequent relegation games against Västerås SK , he prevailed with the team and returned to the Allsvenskan.

Establishment as a first division player

In the first division season 1998 Henriksson missed with BK Häcken as the table penultimate to keep the league, but returned as the season winner the following year straight back to the Allsvenskan. This time he took the relegation place with the team, against Mjällby AIF managed to keep the league level on penalties . In the subsequent 2001 season he was again only one relegation place with BKH .

Henriksson had made a name for himself in the Allsvenskan and left the relegated team. The new employer was the multiple national champion IFK Göteborg . Under coach Stefan Lundin he established himself alongside Pontus Kåmark , Jon Inge Høiland and Martin Ericsson in the regular formation. With the team he reached the relegation place in the 2002 season , against Västra Frölunda IF succeeded after a 1: 1 opener tie with a 2-0 return leg of relegation. Under the newly signed coach Bo Johansson he was part of the starting line-up in all 26 games in the following season, but only played eleven games from the start in his third season, as Niclas Alexandersson had ousted him to his traditional position in the right midfield.

Back to BK Häcken

Henriksson returned to BK Häcken shortly before the end of the winter transfer window from April 1, 2005. He signed a three-year contract with his former club. In his first year for the club, he was used in all 26 first division games and contributed eight goals this season to eighth place in the table. In the following season he reached only the relegation place despite five goals this season. After two defeats against IF Brommapojkarna , he was relegated to the Superettan with BKH , but this time remained loyal to the club.

In the following two years Henriksson missed only one game in the second division and contributed with 19 goals this season as top scorer in the course of the second division season 2008 to the return of the club to the Allsvenskan. There, too, he proved to be a regular goalscorer and led the club to fifth place in the table. With ten goals this season he was the club's top scorer and was one of the top six goalscorers in the league. While he was increasingly overshadowed by his strike partner Mathias Ranégie in scoring goals in the following years , he remained a regular on the offensive. After only one season assignment as a substitute due to injury in the 2012 season, he ended his professional career at the end of the season in autumn. If he had already announced at the time that he might still be active in the lower class area, he joined the amateur club Grebbestads IF in March 2013 , for which his father had already played.
