Career

Career start in Sweden with championship title and national team debut

Larsson started playing football at Gothenburg club BK Zenith . At the age of fifteen he switched to the youth team at BK Häcken . In the summer of 2002 he made his debut in the Swedish national jersey, when he ran up in the 4: 4 draw against the Finnish U-15 selection in the Swedish student selection and crowned his debut by the goal to the 1-0 intermediate result. In the following years he went through the various youth teams of the club as well as the Svenska Fotbollförbundet .

In the second division season 2004 Larsson moved up in the professional squad BK Häckens. During the season he came as a substitute for his first two professional appearances in the Superettan and rose to the Allsvenskan at the end of the season with the club . In the first season of the first division, the young player was still one of the supplementary players and played five games. In the 2006 season he finally established himself in the professional squad and came to 17 season appearances, 13 of them as a substitute. After he had missed relegation with the club, he played in the second division in the regular formation. In the second division season in 2008 he finished second in the club's internal goalscorer list behind Jonas Henriksson with twelve goals this season and thus made a decisive contribution to the club's return to the Allsvenskan. As a result, Hammarby IF and Malmö FF reported interest in a commitment, but he also took part in trial training at Chelsea FC and BK Häcken tried to find continued employment.

Larsson, however, decided to change clubs and joined Malmö FF in January 2009. He signed a four-year contract valid until the end of 2012 with the club from Skåne , where he was given the number “7”. At his new club, he shone alongside Edward Ofere as a striker and placed third on the scorers list with eleven goals this season behind Tobias Hysén and Wanderson do Carmo . He drew the attention of national coach Erik Hamrén , who was newly hired in autumn, and made his debut on the occasion of a Middle East tour of the national team in the 1-0 victory over the national team of Oman on January 20, 2010 at the side of other debutants such as Guillermo Molins , Emir Bajrami or Tom Söderberg in the national jersey . In the following season, he continued to be a dangerous goal and hit the side of his strike partner Agon Mehmeti again in double digits. With his ten goals this season he made a decisive contribution to winning the Lennart Johansson Cup for the Swedish national champions, so that he returned to the national team for the South Africa tour the following January. In the following season he played a key role in the club's progression to the final play-offs of the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League when he scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 away win at Glasgow Rangers . Ultimately, the team failed to make it into the group stage and competed in the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League . While she was eliminated there early, he also missed the European Cup entry with her in the championship as fourth in the table.

Change abroad

Shortly before the end of the 2012 season, Larsson announced his move to Spain , and he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Primera División promoted Real Valladolid . He made it straight to the first team and, despite a brief injury, made 18 league appearances in his first half in March. In the following season he was used in 28 league games and was able to achieve three goals. However, he could not prevent the club's relegation to the Segunda División at the end of the season . He then moved to the promoted team in the Primera División, Granada CF, for the 2014/15 season . For the second half of the 2014/15 season he was loaned to the Danish club Esbjerg fB .

In the 2015 summer transfer period, he was signed by the Turkish first division club Gaziantepspor . After one and a half seasons he moved on to league rivals Akhisar Belediyespor during the winter break of 2016/17 . With this club he won the Turkish Cup and Supercup in the 2017/18 season .

For the second half of the 2018/19 season, he moved to Aris Thessaloniki .
