Tvååker is a village ( Tatort ) in Varberg in the Swedish province of Hallands län and parish in the parish of Tvååkers socken. It is located on the European roads E6 and E20 , about 15 km southeast of the main town of Varberg .

Place name

For the place name there is a folk etymological explanation that there were två åkrar , i.e. two fields, in the city . The Swedish place-name lexicon of 2003 gives a different explanation. The word to , which is found in the first documentary mention of 1198 with the name Toaker , is a dialect word meaning " flax ". The name can therefore be interpreted as a flax field .
