Sven Olof Nylander (born January 1, 1962 in Varberg ) is a former Swedish athlete and Olympic participant.

General

Sven Nylander was one of the best 400 meter hurdlers in Europe for over a decade . His best time of 47.98 seconds, set at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, is still a Swedish record today. In 1982, 1987, 1990 and 1992 he was the Swedish champion in the 400 meter hurdles. Nylander ended his career in 1997 with DN Galan in Stockholm. With a height of 1.92 m, his competition weight was 80 kg.
