Cleomenes II

Cleomenes II , King of Sparta , came from the house of the Agiads . He was the son of Cleombrotus I and the successor of his brother Agesipolis II , who did not leave any descendants. Akrotatos and Kleonymos were the sons of Cleomenes II . Akrotatos, the older of the two, died before his father, so that his son Areus and grandson of Cleomenes II, succeeded him as king.

No activities are known of Kleomenes' 61 years of reign. Gyrtias , mentioned by Plutarch , was either his mother or mother-in-law.
