Täby [ 'tɛ: by: ] is a place in the Swedish province of Stockholm County and the historic province of Uppland .

Täby is the capital of the municipality of the same name in the greater Stockholm area , about 15 km north of the center of the capital . Before 2015, Täby was an independent crime scene with 61,272 inhabitants on 2,581 hectares , which extended to the territory of the municipality of Danderyd (5286 inhabitants on an area of ​​258 hectares) and a small part of the municipality of Sollentuna (7 inhabitants on 3 hectares) ( 2010). Täby has been part of the Stockholm crime scene since 2015.

history

The history of Taby goes back to the Viking Age . The small town was dominated by agriculture for 800 years.

With the inauguration of the railway line in 1885, population growth began. From 1907 Täby developed into a suburb of Stockholm. In 1912 the place had about 1,000 inhabitants. In 1948 Täby, now numbering 9,000 inhabitants, was elevated to köping ( market town ).
