Jochen Grupe

Jochen "Jogi" Grupe (born July 27, 1963 in Heddesheim ) is a former German handball player.

Jochen Grupe began playing handball in his youth, first in Heddesheim, then in Leutershausen an der Bergstrasse at SG Leutershausen , for which he later played in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1986 he moved to the first division club MTSV Schwabing , with whom he was runner-up in the 1985/86 season and won the DHB Cup in 1986. In 1988 he returned to SG Leutershausen, rose to the first division and became runner-up in 1992. He played 13 international matches for the German men's national handball team. Jogi Grupe is left-handed and has mainly played in the right wing position in attack and in the half right position in defense.

Grupe is currently looking after youth teams of the Junglions (Rhein-Neckar Löwen) as assistant coach.

He is married and has two sons.
