Torsten Bunke

Torsten Bunke (born September 26, 1908 as Torsten Andersson ; † May 2, 1987 ) was a Swedish football player . The striker was the Allsvenskan top scorer in 1933 and made his debut for the Swedish national team that same year . His brother Lennart Bunke worked with him for Helsingborgs IF and the national team.

Career

Bunke moved in 1932 together with his brother Lennart from Höganäs BK to Helsingborgs IF and played for the club in Allsvenskan in the early 1930s . At the side of Nils Rosén , Nils Axelsson and Knut Kroon , the team won the third championship title in the club's history in the 1932/33 season . Bunke scored 21 goals this season and, as the top scorer, was instrumental in winning the title. His goal danger led to the nomination for the Swedish national team in the spring . In the 6-2 win over Estonia he was among the goalscorers alongside his club-mates Lennart Bunke and Knut Kroon as well as Sven Andersson and Bertil Ericsson , who scored two goals. He made his second and last international appearance against Denmark in June of the same year.

When he defended his title in the championship in the 1933/34 season , Bunke was no longer a regular player and was no longer one of the eleven award-winning players with the most season appearances. Until relegation to the second division in the summer of 1935, he continued to play for Helsingborgs IF in the Allsvenskan. In the spring of 1937, the club reactivated some of its well-deserved players such as Harry Lundahl , Nils Rosén, Lennart and Torsten Bunke. In the summer of the year, the team managed to return to the Allsvenskan.

Nothing is currently known about the further life of Bunkes.
