Peter Ijeh (born March 28, 1977 in Lagos ) is a Nigerian football player . The striker has played most of his career in Northern Europe.

Career

Ijeh in training with Viking FK in August 2007

Ijeh played in his Nigerian homeland until 2001 before moving from Julius Berger FC to Sweden to Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan . There he was the top scorer in the first division in 2002 . After a broken foot, he fell out of the first half of the following season.

In 2004 Ijeh joined league rivals IFK Göteborg , who wanted to upgrade to their centenary. However, he could no longer build on his successful time and was considered a disappointment.

After a season and a half, Ijeh was handed over to the Danish first division club FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2005 . However, he could not recommend himself for the regular eleven and moved to Viking FK in Stavanger, Norway, for three million Danish kroner . There he shot the club almost single-handedly out of the relegation zone with eleven goals in 15 games. With four goals by Ijeh in the 5-0 win over Brann Bergen in the last game of the season, the last non-relegation place could be climbed due to the better goal difference. After his contract with Syrianska FC expired , he moved to GAIS Göteborg in January 2012 .

International

Ijeh has played five caps for Nigeria so far .
