Sylve Bengtsson

Sylve Boris Bengtsson (born July 2, 1930 in Halmstad , † April 30, 2005 there ) was a Swedish football player .
Career
Bengtsson played for Halmstads BK . In 1946 and 1947 he was Swedish youth champion with the club. In 1947 he made his debut in the men's team in the Allsvenskan . The team was in the season 1947/48 however only bottom of the table and therefore Bengtsson joined the league rivals Helsingborgs IF . In 1952 he returned to the HBK, with which the 1954 rose again to the Allsvenskan. In 1955 he was with the club as a promoted runner-up behind Djurgårdens IF . A year later he scored 22 goals this season, making him top scorer. Even after relegation in 1959, he initially remained loyal to HBK. From 1961 to 1963 he played for Gnosjö IF before returning to Helsingborgs IF for two seasons.
As a game coach Bengtsson then looked after Halmstads BK in the third division. After a brief activity at Laholms FK in the 1968 season as a player-coach, he returned to HBK as head coach and led the team back to the Allsvenskan after 13 years of subclassicity.
Bengtsson played 28 times for the Swedish national team . At the Olympic Games in 1952 , he won the bronze medal with the national selection.
