Mats Dan Erling Corneliusson (born October 2, 1961 in Trollhättan ) is a former Swedish football player .

career

Corneliusson started his career at IFK Göteborg . In 1982 he won the Swedish championship with the club and was top scorer in both the regular season with twelve goals and in the championship round with eight goals in six games. He was also successful in the European Cup with the club and was able to win the title in the 1981/82 UEFA Cup . In the 3-0 away win at Hamburger SV in the final second leg, he ensured the preliminary decision in favor of the Northern Europeans with the goal of the 1-0 lead.

In the following season, in which the club was again champions, Corneliusson only played the first half series for IFK. He then moved to the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart . Here he was again champion as HSV-Schreck, who was only runner-up, and with twelve goals this season, together with Karl Allgöwer and Ásgeir Sigurvinsson, was the club's second most successful shooter, behind Peter Reichert , who scored 13 goals.

After just one season in German football, Corneliusson moved further south and signed with Como Calcio . The club was promoted to Serie A and the Swedish striker was a key player in the top division. After the club returned to Serie B after five years , Corneliusson left Italy and joined Malmö FF . He ended his career with the lower class Qviding FIF .

Corneliusson wore the Swedish national shirt 22 times and scored 13 goals.
