Lars Heineman (born February 16, 1943 in Degerfors ) is a Swedish former football player . The striker made his career in Sweden and the United States . In his home country, the two-time national player was once the top scorer in the top division.

Career

Heineman comes from the youth of Degerfors IF, who lives in his hometown . For the club he made his debut in 1961 in the Allsvenskan , the top Swedish division. First, he played with the club against relegation, before he led the club to runner-up behind IFK Norrköping in the 1963 season as a regular goalscorer . With 17 goals this season, he crowned himself with the title of top scorer, which he shared with Bo Larsson from Malmö FF . In the same year he made his debut in the Swedish national team , as this in May in the qualification for the 1964 Olympic Games in Hungary met. After the 4-0 defeat, he played another international match against Norway in August , after which his national team career was over again.

Heineman later moved to league rivals IF Elfsborg , where he also shone as a regular goalscorer. With 13 goals this season in the 1965 season, he was second best in the club's internal goalscorer list behind Ove Grahn , he was again runner-up. At the side of Ove Westerberg , Henry Larsson and Boris Målberg , he appeared for the club until the 1967 season in the Swedish elite series.

In 1968 Heineman moved to the United States. First he ran for the Detroit Cougars in the NASL's debut season , before moving on to the Washington Whips within the league in the summer of that year . At the end of the season, the team, which had mainly played with Scottish players from Aberdeen FC , withdrew from the championship. In 1970 and 1971 he played again in Sweden in the 2nd division at KB Karlskoga and ended his football career there.
