Fredrik Stenman (born June 2, 1983 in Munktorp ) is a former Swedish football player .

The trained defender Fredrik Stenman only played in Sweden before moving to Germany. Initially at Munktorps BK and Västerås SK , the next stages of his professional career were IF Elfsborg and Djurgårdens IF . On January 1, 2006, he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen and signed a contract until 2009. After the end of the 2006/2007 Bundesliga season, Stenman moved to the Dutch club FC Groningen for a transfer fee of 800,000 euros . His contract ran until the end of the 2010/11 season. He then moved to the first Belgian division for Club Bruges . In 2014 he went back to Sweden to his former club Djurgårdens IF . In 2016, he ended his active career with fifth division IFK Lidingö in December .
National team
Stenman was Sweden's youth international and made his debut in the A-Elf on May 25, 2006 against Finland . He was part of the Swedish squad at the 2006 World Cup , but was not used. After he had not been nominated for five years, he celebrated his national team comeback in spring 2011. In the 5-6 defeat on penalties against Ukraine in an invitation tournament in Cyprus, he returned for a game under national coach Erik Hamrén .
