Stefan Rehn (born September 22, 1966 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish football player who now works as a coach . In both functions he won several championship titles and cup victories.

Career

Player career

Rehn played at Sundbybergs IK when he was young . In 1984 he signed his first professional contract with Djurgårdens IF . Until 1989 he was active for the club in the Allsvenskan before he moved to the First Division for one season at Everton . In 1990 he returned to Sweden and went to IFK Göteborg . By 1995 he won five championship titles and the Svenska Cup once with the club. In 1995 he went abroad again, this time to Lausanne-Sports in Switzerland. With the club he was twice cup winner. In 2000 he returned to Sweden and to his first professional station. With Djurgårdens IF he celebrated the double of championship and cup victory in 2002. With these successes he ended his active career.

Rehn played 45 times for Sweden . He took part in the 1992 European Championships in his own country and the 1994 World Cup, where the semi-finals were reached.

Coaching career

Rehn took over the coaching position at Djurgårdens IF in 2003. Here, too, he was successful and was able to win two championships and two cup wins. Since 2007 he has been a trainer at IFK Göteborg together with Jonas Olsson , with whom he was able to build on his successes. In addition to a championship in 2007, he won the trophy in 2008. For the end of 2011 he announced his departure from the traditional club, as he will take over the multiple women champion Jitex Mölndal BK in Damallsvenskan . After two seasons he moved within the league to Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC , where he inherited Torbjörn Nilsson as head coach and signed a three-year contract. There he extended his contract in autumn 2016. After a disappointing eighth place in the table at the end of the 2017 season , they parted ways just under a year later.

In the spring of 2018, Rehn returned to men's football and from May took over the coaching position at Utsiktens BK in Division 1 . With the third division team, he finished eighth in the table in the southern season at the end of the 2018 season .
