In the 1: 2 defeat he was substituted on for Eudis in the 63rd minute . He became a crowd favorite in Bern after scoring five goals in the first five games in 2008, despite not playing on the field for more than 25 minutes in any game. In the 2008/09 season Doumbia was only five times in the starting lineup. With 20 goals, he was the top scorer of the Super League in his first season in the Swiss football championship in 2008/09 . In addition, his football colleagues named him “Player of the Year” in the Axpo Super League. At the end of the 2009/10 season , Doumbia topped the list of goalscorers with 30 goals and was once again voted the best player in the Axpo Super League. In 43 competitive games for BSC Young Boys, Doumbia scored 75 points, including 56 goals.
