Alexandre Rey (born September 22, 1972 in Sion ) is a former Swiss football player .
Career
Rey began his career in 1990 at FC Sion , with whom he won the Swiss Cup in 1991 and the National League A in 1992. In 1994 he moved to FC Basel . In 1996 he went back to Sion. In October 1997 he moved to Servette Geneva . With Servette he became Swiss champion in 1999. In the winter break of the 2000/01 season he moved to FC Luzern , which he left in the winter break of the 2001/02 season towards Neuchâtel Xamax . He took part in the 2003 Cup final with Xamax, but lost 6-0 to FC Basel. In 2006 he ended his career. Today he works in the administration of Xamax.
Rey also played 18 games for the Swiss national football team . He scored five goals, three of them in the World Cup qualifier for the 2006 World Cup against the Faroe Islands .
