John Hartmann Eriksen (born November 20, 1957 in Assens , † February 12, 2002 in Svendborg ) was a Danish football player who played on the position of a striker .

Career

youth

Eriksen was born in Assens , in 1964 his family moved from Assens to Svendborg , where he and his brother started playing football at Svendborg fB . He won his first title in 1968. At the age of 17 (June 1975) he made his debut for Svendborg fB.

societies

After two seasons at Svendborg , Eriksen moved to Odense BK where he scored 22 goals in both seasons for the club. In January 1980 he moved to the Netherlands in the Eredivisie to Roda JC Kerkrade .

In the 1984/85 season he then moved to FC Mulhouse in the French Ligue 2. In the summer he returned to the Netherlands for Feyenoord Rotterdam , he scored 22 goals this season and Feyernood placed third at the end of the season.

At the age of almost 29, Eriksen moved to Switzerland , where he further demonstrated his goal-scoring mentality at the traditional club Servette FC Genève and was twice top scorer in the Swiss league . After three years with Servette FC , he moved to FC Luzern where he also scored many goals.

At the age of 36 he ended his career as a footballer at his youth club Svendborg fB .

National team

Eriksen played 17 games for the Danish national football team where he scored a total of six goals. He participated in the 1986 World Cup and the 1988 European Championship.

death

After the end of his career, Eriksen fell ill with Alzheimer's and lived in a nursing home in Svendborg for three years . He died in Svendborg on February 12, 2002. He was buried in St. Nicolai Church in Svendborg on February 20, 2002.
