Career as a player

Dominique Cina spent his junior years at FC Sion.
In the 1979/80 season he made his debut at FC Sion in the former National League A . Between 1979 and 1990 he played for the first team of FC Sion for eleven years, where he won the Swiss Cup three times in 1980, 1982 and 1986 . In the 1984/85 season , Cina was the top scorer in the National League A with 24 goals . For FC Sion, he played 202 championship games and scored 102 goals.
In the summer of 1990 he moved to FC Wettingen for two years. After that, Cina played for a year each for FC Lausanne-Sport and FC Friborg, where he ended his career in the summer of 1993.
