Jurica Jerković (born February 25, 1950 in Split , at the time: SFR Yugoslavia , now Croatia ; † June 3, 2019 ), real first name Jure , was a Yugoslav football player .

The midfielder belonged to the "golden generation" (Croatian zlatna generacija ) of the 1970s of the Hajduk Split club .

Career

For the first time he played in the 1968/69 season for Hajduk in the first Yugoslav league and was three times Yugoslav champions with the "whites" in the following years and won the Yugoslav Cup five times. In 1978 he moved to FC Zurich in Switzerland , where he was once Swiss champion and three times as the best foreign footballer in Switzerland. In 1985 he moved to Ticino to FC Lugano to end his career in the second-class National League B.

For the national team of Yugoslavia Jerković made his debut on April 12, 1970 in Belgrade against Hungary when he was substituted on during the break . He played at the 1974 World Cup in Germany and at the 1976 European Championship finals in Yugoslavia. He was also part of the Yugoslav squad at the 1982 World Cup , but was not used.

He played a total of 43 games for Yugoslavia and scored six goals.
