Heinz Lüdi (born October 8, 1958 ) is a former Swiss football player .
Lüdi, who used to be a defender, began his career in 1976 at FC Grenchen . In 1977 he joined FC Zurich , where he spent most of his career.
With Zurich he won the Swiss championship in the 1980/81 season and reached the final of the Swiss Cup in the same year . However, the game was lost 3: 4 after extra time against FC Lausanne-Sport . His greatest personal success came in 1981 when he was voted Swiss Footballer of the Year with 72 votes . For the 1988/89 season Lüdi was under contract with Neuchâtel Xamax , from 1989 to 1991 he played his last competitive games with FC Baden .
For the Swiss national soccer team he was used for the first time in 1979 in a league game. In the following years he was part of the regular squad and made 42 international matches for Switzerland by 1985, as well as one goal.
