André "Andy" Egli (born May 8, 1958 in Bäretswil ) is a Swiss football coach and former football player .

In the National League A he was used in 426 games, in the German Bundesliga in 31 games. He scored a total of 92 goals. There are also 50 games in the Swiss Cup (15 goals) and 41 games in the European Cup (three goals). Between 1979 and 1994 he made 77 national team games and scored nine times. He was called up for the 1994 World Cup , but was not used. He has been a trainer since 1995.

Personal

In September 2015, Andy Egli developed testicular cancer . But in November 2015 he had already won the fight against cancer after successful chemotherapy and was completely cured.

Despite his illness, he stayed with the SRF as a football expert, where he is still under contract in 2020 .
