Roman Anatoljewitsch Pavlyuchenko ( Russian Роман Анатольевич Павлюченко ; English transcription Roman Pavlyuchenko ; born December 15, 1981 in Mostowskoi , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian football player . The center forward was the top scorer in the Premjer League twice and was part of the Russian national team from 2003 to 2012 .

Pavlyuchenko began his career as a professional footballer in 1998 with the southern Russian second division club Dynamo Stavropol . At the beginning of the 2000 season he moved to Rotor Volgograd in the Premjer League , but only at Spartak Moscow he could finally prevail. In the four and a half years at Spartak so far, he has always been the club's best goalscorer and has scored an average of one goal in every second league game (odds 0.50). In the last two seasons of the Premjer League in 2006 and 2007 he was even the top scorer . Shortly before the end of the transfer period, the striker moved to the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer fee of around 15 million euros.
