The FK Dynamo Stavropol ( Russian Футбольный клуб Динамо Ставрополь , scientific transliteration FK Dinamo-Stavropol ) is a Russian football club from the city of Stavropol . The club plays in the 2nd division , the third highest division in the country.
history
The association was founded in 1924. In the years 1980 to 1981 and from 1985 to 1991 the team played in the second highest Soviet league, otherwise the club was always third class. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the team was accepted into the highest Russian league in 1992. From 1995 to 1999 the club took part in the second-class 1st division . After the 21st place from the 1999 season, the team was relegated to the 2nd division . In the 2005 season, the team lost their professional status and played in the amateur championship for a year. In 2006 the team returned to the 2nd division.
