Qurban Qurbanov ( Azerbaijani Qurban Osman oğlu Qurbanov ; Russian Гурбан Гурбанов / Gurban Gurbanow ; born April 13, 1972 in Zaqatala , Azerbaijani SSR ) is a former Azerbaijani football player and current coach who played on the position of striker .

He made his debut for the Azerbaijani national soccer team in their very first game on September 17, 1992 against Georgia and played there until the beginning of January 2006. During this time, he scored twelve goals in 65 international games, making him Azerbaijan's record scorer.

He began his career in his hometown with Dashgyn and since then has played for Freestyle Nur in Mingəçevir , the Georgian club Mertzchali from Osurgeti , Turan Tavuz , the Russian clubs Dynamo Stavropol , Baltika Kaliningrad and Fakel Voronesch and the Azerbaijani capital club Neftçi Baku . The last club he played for was Inter Baku . After he ended his football career as an active player, he became sports director of Inter. In the summer of 2006 he went to Neftschi Baku as head coach, and has been the coach of FK Qarabağ Ağdam since 2008 .

In 2003 he was named Azerbaijan's Footballer of the Year 2003.
