Kamran Adilxan oğlu Ağayev ( Azerbaijani Kamran Adilxan oğlu Ağayev , Cyrillic Камран Адил оглы Агаев ; born February 9, 1986 in Dəvəçi , then Soviet Union , now Şabran, Azerbaijan ) is an Azerbaijani footballer .

Career

Ağayev started playing soccer in the team Bərəkət , which was coached by his father, while still at school . Ağayev made his debut for the Azerbaijani U-17 national team at the age of 15 after some scouts spotted him. After impressive performances in the U-17 jersey, Ağayev moved to the Azerbaijani league newcomer FK Şəfa Baku , a club from the capital Baku . There he could not prevail, but won the Azerbaijan Football Cup 2000/01 with the club . He made only 26 games for the club between 2001 and 2004.

In July 2004, the 1.89 meter tall goalkeeper signed a two-year contract until 2006 with the Azerbaijani club PFC Turan Tovuz . There he could not prevail either, only made 18 games between 2004 and 2006.

His breakthrough came in 2006 when he moved to the Azerbaijani newcomer FK Xəzər Lənkəran . His good performances helped the club to win the first Azerbaijani Cup in 2006/07, which they defended the following year. In the 2007/08 season they won the Azerbaijani League Cup. In 2008 he won the CIS Cup with Khazar Lankaran . In 2008 he was named Azerbaijan's Footballer of the Year in 2008 and Azerbaijan's Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009. He has been the captain of Khazar Lankaran since 2009.

In February he moved to the Turkish TFF 1st Lig for the Central Anatolian representative Kayserispor . With this club he reached the second division championship and thus promotion to the Süper Lig at the end of the season.

In the summer of 2015 he moved to the second division Karşıyaka SK together with his teammates Berkay Değirmencioğlu , Çağlar Birinci , Mehmet Eren Boyraz and Serkan Kurtuluş . In January 2016 he left this club.

National team

He has been the national goalkeeper since 2008 and has played 51 games so far.
