history

The association was founded in 1954 under the name Mekhsul Tovuz . In 1992 he was one of the 26 teams that participated in the newly founded Premyer Liqası after the country's independence . Right off the bat, they were first in one of the preliminary round groups, but could only end the season in third place in the championship finals. The following year they lost in the championship, which was played with a new mode, only in the semifinals against Qarabağ Ağdam with 0-1 after extra time.

1993/94, when the first round was played without the preliminary round, achieved the greatest success in the club's history. Turan became Azerbaijani champions one point ahead of Qarabağ Ağdam and Musa Kurbanov , the team's top striker, was the top scorer with 35 goals. This was the first time they played in the international championship qualification for the Champions League in the following season .

In the following years they were able to place themselves in the front field, but in 2000 the club only narrowly escaped relegation, only on the penultimate match day did they succeed in securing relegation. 2001 Turan landed back in the safe midfield.

The 2002 season was canceled by the Azerbaijani Association, in 2003 no championship was held at all. Instead, they took part in the tournament on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Neftçi Baku , but were eliminated without a win in the preliminary round.

The first regular season 2003/04 after the dispute with the national association ended the club as thirteenth in the table and prevented relegation only because they benefited from the exclusion of Lokomotiv Imisli and Umid Baki and the subsequent increase in the league.

In 2004/05 they reached fourth place, the following season they came in sixth. in the following years you could only place yourself in the second half of the table.

After the club was relegated to the Birinci Divizionu in the 2012/13 season after 20 years of membership in the first division, it was renamed Turan-T İK .
