The FK Fakel Voronezh ( Russian Футбольный клуб "Факел" Воронеж , scientific transliteration Futbol'nyj klub "Fakel" Voronež ) is a Russian football club from the city of Voronezh . The club was a founding member of today's Premjer League , the first Russian league, in 1992 and was represented in professional football for many years.

history

Soviet Union

The association was founded in 1947. Until 1959, the club played as Voronezh's city team without a name extension. In that year the association was renamed Trud Voronezh. The association has been called Fakel Voronezh since 1976. In 1984 the team was able to reach the semi-finals of the Soviet Cup .

Russia

The team from Voronezh was one of the founding members of the newly created Russian Supreme League after the collapse of the Soviet Union . After the disappointing 1992 season, the team finished 17th in the relegation round and had to relegate to the second-class first division . In the next season, the immediate relegation to the 2nd division followed . The best league placement in the Premjer League for the club was a 13th place in 2000. In 2006 the FK Fakel Voronezh had to relegate from the 1st division due to financial problems and the club was refused the license for the 2nd division. Since then, the club has played in the amateur league, the fourth highest soccer league in the country. In 2008 and 2009, two clubs were founded in Voronezh, both of which see themselves in the tradition of Fakel: First, the club Fakel StroiArt Voronezh was founded in 2008 , which was renamed FSA Voronezh for the 2009 season ; the club has played in the 2nd division since it was founded . In 2009, another club, Fakel-Voronezh, was founded in the same league , but it was not recognized by the supporters of the old club, quickly ran into financial difficulties and was excluded from playing in September 2009. Since the Saturn Ramenskoje withdrew voluntarily from the Premjer League , the FK Krasnodar was included in the Premjer League as the fifth place in the 1st football division in 2010 . His place in the Perwenstwo FNL 2011/12 was allocated to the FK Fakel Voronezh. The immediate relegation followed. In 2015 after winning the relay championship center in the third-class Perwenstwo PFL , the promotion to the Perwenstwo FNL could be celebrated. Fakel was able to stay there for three seasons and should be relegated again as bottom of the table in 2018 . However, Fakel benefited from several withdrawals that did not result in sporting relegations. The 2018/19 season ended the club in seventeenth again on a relegation zone, but was again able to keep the withdrawal of other clubs in the class.
