Eduard Wassiljewitsch Malofejew ( Russian Эдуард Васильевич Малофеев; born June 2, 1942 in Krasnoyarsk ) is a former Russian football player and coach.

career

Malofejew began his career as an adult footballer in 1960 with Awangard Kolomna . In 1961 he moved to Spartak Moscow with whom he won the Soviet championship in 1962 . For the game year 1963 he moved to FK Dinamo Minsk .

National team

At the 1966 World Cup , Malofejew belonged to the squad of the Soviet national team , scoring three goals in five games. At the European Championship in 1968 , the striker was appointed to the USSR European Championship squad .

Trainer

In 1984 he was appointed coach of the Soviet national team, with which he qualified for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico . Immediately before the tournament, however, he was replaced by his predecessor Valery Lobanovsky . From 2000 to 2003 Malofejew coached the Belarusian national team . He was also head coach at Dynamo Moscow , Dinamo-Gasowik Tyumen , Anzhi Makhachkala , Fakel Voronezh and Dynamo Saint Petersburg .
